Residing in Bridgeberry

The Winter King

The one and only Winter King Bridgeberry has had. Over the years, he lost any name but his title. He has seen all of his friends and enemies destroyed save perhaps the Autumn king, who is too weird to really consider either. He is slowly fading from reality, both mentally as he looses grasp of reality and physically, as he spends much of his time in the hedge.

Sir Donovan Hale, Winter Champion

The Most Glorious Winter Champion, Sir Donovan Hale, Yeoman of the Flayed Goat Face and personal Bodyguard to his Highness, the Winter King. Possibly the most feared Knight in Bridgeberry, Sir Donovan Hale is usually found at the right hand of the Winter King. Even the Summer Court repects his skill and the late Summer King, Zacharias Elagabalus tested his mettle. No one is certain of the results of that duel, but both changelings were gone for a day and a night before returning. Ever since that day, the Summer King refered to Hale as Sir Hale, a sign of respect he gave few others. The Winter Champion is an Elemental, a living metal statue created to guard the palace of his Fae Mistress. He has been the Champion of the Winter Court since the early 1960s.

blackburn.jpg

Vivian Blackburn, Keeper of the Keys

The Châtelaine of the King, who keeps the court running. A constant figure at his side, with the most titles out of the winter court.

ersatz.jpg

Mr. Ersatz

The hands of the winter court are stained with blood long before the champion even enters the situation. A Tyrrel of the court, who keeps everyone in line.

laura.jpg

Laura Palmer

An Icebound duchess, currently the Rake.

jake.jpg

Jake Narcisse

An icebound duke, youngest of the duchy in Bridgeberry.

Winter Court

Johnny Pockets

A king amongst fences in the city. You want it, he can probably get it, the nastier it is, the more likely he will be able to. Specializes in “helping” new changelings get set up again.

Dead, Missing, Other

Winter Court

Emily Drumlin, the Winter Queen

Died 1984. She became consort of the winter king in 1918, after inducting him into the icebound heart by causing him to betray his initial consort to his keeper for her, then shunning him. Eventually, she succumbed to old age at 102.

Winter Court

Ferdinand Twoeyes

Died 1942. Antagonized King Elagabalus, concluding with a hedge duel to the death. His weapon, the Jaw of the Wumpus was notable ((Token: Jaw of the Wumpus. Details to come)). This was held by Elagabalus as a trophy for 20 years, then it slipped away.

Winter Court

Dmitri Rattrap

Captured 1963. Returned from Arcadia in 1918. Was the primary shield of the winter king from 1924 till he was captured during the large privateer attack of 1963.

Winter Court

Phinneas Toadsworth

Died 1978. Phinneas Toadsworth snuck back in 1969 after spending one mortal day in Arcadia. Within the year, he found himself drawn to being a Jack Ketch for the city. He was unscrupulous… some whispered that he was amongst the soulless. Whatever the case, he began to sell parts of the lives of the Fetches that he killed (aka the lives of those he was helping) to the goblins could get him all sorts of favours. It is unclear who hired the Tolltakers to get rid of him, but the price was “a bottle of the goodstuff and a hearty handshake”. It took less than a week to collect. The tolltaker who received the bottle promptly gave everyone a drink, as it was felt that the price on his head was a bit too high.

Winter Court

John Tallfellow

Died 1934. John was a gardener of sorts and was always playing in the hedge. It was normal form him to go missing from time to time but one fog filled night in October of 1934 he never returned. Most believed lost to the Hedge.

Winter Court

Simon Vindico

Died 1924. The Winter King had the idea of coming to the middle of nowhere to hide, but was a dreamer, not a practicalist. Simon Vindico was practical, a protector of the vision that the Winter king had, and his fledgling court. Died fighting the Privateers that attacked the Freehold in the winter of 1924.

Winter Court

Sandy Croweborn

Died 1929. Was part of the initial winter court, she was a rival of Emily Drumlin from the earliest times. Decided to move on in 1921 to found Ravenhouse (the Edmonton Freehold) with a few others from all the courts. Killed by the local vampires in 1929, when Blight got seduced by a vampire, which caused the vampire community to destroy the freehold.

Winter Court

Tommy Kraut

Died 1994. When the winter king brought the initial band west, Tommy Kraut was the youngest member, fresh back from the hedge and still young. Was initiated into the Wax Mask in 1948. Tommy was a highly approachable individual, more selfless than most changelings. He was loved by all within and outside of the winter court. He died peacefully when he read the obituary of his fetch.
