Winter Acccounting

The Seasonal Accountings occur at the January, April, July and October gatherings. These are times to show what supremacy the court can muster. It is common to swear oaths based on these accountings.

The Winter Accounting sees the winter court at its high point. Many outstanding issues are addressed at the Accountings. Normally, the tension between the summer king and winter king have run hot, but that won’t be the case this year. This will occur on January 26.

Event write up

The Winter Court held their accounting. After a few mix ups (it seems that the Spring King was accidentally forgotten in the accounting list, and for some reason Bobby 12-Times had 3 name tags, professing that he was 1. The Cat, 2. Nothing, and 3. Smorch King), a census was taken.

There were some troubling losses. The youngest motley in the city has disappeared, most likely due to the rampaging Privateers, and a few other members were strangely absent. More disturbing to some, as there are cruel bastards amongst the courts, the Malaise is almost gone, and the toast was conducted on thrice watered Malaise. A bottle of a good year was found and enjoyed by some, though it is an acquired taste.

The Winter king gave a rambling speech and was rudely interrupted on a number of occasions by the crowd, particularly the Spring King. However, given the state of the speech, and the mental state of the winter king, this was made possible. He stumbled in it, and tried to account for such individuals as Emily Drumlin (Died 1982) and Mr. Bones (who has avoided the accountings since 1972), his age starting to show through. He then swore in his court to offer fealty.

Bobby 12-times has returned, and with it the usual madness he brings to a society. At least no one asked him about his travels to the moon.

A strange box was placed in the center of the Room, its contents were apparently “a secret to everybody”. The sign was later modified by Bobby 12-times to be “a secret to everybody else”. The box was open, and what appeared to be $5000 came out. Later, that roll of bills changed to a teapot. The numbers on the seats surrounding the box confused many, and their deeper meaning still is unclear.

After the speech, most of the Summer and Autumn courts went after a hedge beast. They managed to track down a Suitelid, to offer to the Winter King as bounty.

Shortly after this, the Duchy of the Icebound Heart declared a new Rake. Laura is no longer the Rake, having passed her title onto Jake for his destruction of Ruby. This created quite a stir.

Later, it was revealed that dream contagion seems to have seeped into Bridgeberry. The Fae Prince of Delights, in his guise of the Prince in Green, has been infecting Bridgeberry, coming for his own… which the Spring King admitted that he was amongst their number.

During concerned discussion about how to deal with this threat, Jake was convinced that he was the Green Prince, and got into a challenge with Athalvolf about this and because he had devastated Ruby. As she handily defeated him, claiming victory over the Green Prince, a taste of the Prince entered into the area, asking why she had struck down someone else in his name.

Concerned conversation followed, featuring an extensive conversation by some about Lord Waffles of Wafflehaus, after which the gathering disbanded.
