Warden Hart, The Spring King

Warden Hart is a Beast who lives life to the fullest. Having claimed the Spring Crown only a couple of years ago, he is busy making his voice heard. He has little patience for what he considers tyranny and oppression, and isn’t shy about vocalizing such. He isn’t shy about making his opinions known, but as eager as he seems to be to acquire enemies, he is also always welcoming to potential new friends. For the powers that largely dominate Bridgeberry, he is an annoyance, but to those who find themselves in need of aid, help or simply a friendly ear he is always available. He has publicly declared the doors of his pub, the Greenwood, open to any Changeling so long they keep the peace and don’t bring any trouble. And the Fae? Well, as they say, “the best revenge is living well”, and Hart is working on his revenge full time.

uxbridge.jpg

Lord Uxbridge, Former Spring King

A withered old man with a friendly smile winks at you across the room.
This is how Saskatoon’s Changeling community knows Lord Uxbridge. In fact, the older folk have had Uxbridge winking at them for about fifty years. He seemed old back when people were dancing the Twist, so he must be ancient now…
Uxbridge has been helping people out of scrapes and introducing friends in Saskatoon since Elvis hit the airwaves. He has acted as Spring King for most of those years, stepping on nobody’s toes and causing few problems. It was his policy to never interfere in the politics of others, and even seems magnanimous about the loss of his Spring mantle. He frequently invites the Changed to his private parties, affairs of wild revelry involving Saskatoon’s artistic community, where he seems to be revered.
Every spring, when he traditionally held court, all were invited to Spring Revelry, a party of special magnificence and decadence.
However, his eyes have recently lost their youthful sparkle, replaced by muddled confusion.
His age finally seems to be catching up with him, and he is not coping. His friendly facade has shown cracks, through which shine oddity, anger and paranoia. Nobody is quite sure what he will do next.

Annissa de Lit

Annissa has become a fixture in both Saskatoon society and Bridgeberry society. As a member of the Spring Court, she gladly accepts her role as a non-political member of the Courts. Her desire to be the center of attention, and her social graces enliven every event – sometimes for the better, and sometimes not. She is often seen in the company of the former Spring King, Lord Uxbridge, and she routinely shuns the current Spring King. Since the two of them comprise the rest the entirety of her small motley, it is not difficult to spot the underlying tension between the members of the Spring Court. Nonetheless, Annissa is usually smiling and laughing; she would appear to be the picture of happiness.

Died 1918. The first spring king and the first changeling to come back to Saskatoon. He returned from Arcadia in 1903. A bit like Emperor Norton, he was quickly chosen to act as a buffer between the courts. He was actually courtless when he took up the position of Spring king, and in doing so gained Spring’s respect. Began to want a more equal share of power. Was announced dead on May 3rd by the other kings, when they elevated the next spring monarch.
